Welcome to the Rotary Club of
Banchory -Ternan
Rotary is a dynamic organisation that brings
together people from diverse backgrounds to
put shared values into action.
Our motto, ‘service above self’, guides
everything we do- forming teams and
partnerships to make a positive impact locally
and internationally. Rotary never stands still.
We embrace change, welcome diversity, and
seek new challenges.
We are well known for organising the annual
Rotary Wheels Rally for classic and vintage
vehicles each May at Milton of Crathes, and
the Rotary Charity Golf Day in August. We also
support community events such as the Steam
and Vintage Rally, Kids Out, The Banchory
Show, and the Braemar Gathering.
Supporting young people and vocational
activities is a big part of what we do. We work
with local schools every year for Shoe Box
collections, the Young Musician Competition,
Primary School Quiz, and Young Speechmaker
Competition. Our efforts on the Banchory
Academy Garden, Scolty Centre garden,
and Scolty Ward garden have been widely
appreciated by the local community.
Internationally, our club has supported
causes including aid for Ukrainian refugees,

disaster relief in Turkey, and mental health
projects in Peru. Through Rotary worldwide,
we help deliver ShelterBoxes for disaster relief
wherever they are needed, and we are proud of
Rotary’s role in eradicating polio.
Having fun together is an important part
of Rotary. We host many social events with
partners and friends—because making a
difference in the world should be enjoyable
as well as rewarding! If you are looking to get
involved, contribute to the community, and
have fun along the way, we would be delighted
to meet you.
